In this week's gaming news
Blockchain racing game Coinracer: Reloaded announced their development plans are ahead of schedule this week with the release of their standalone application and launcher capabilities, along with the addition of a playable school bus vehicle in-game. Following the success of their Thunder Race Tournament, community tournaments have now been announced to take place every Sunday.
Radical Chessmasters are excited by the announcement of a new tournament taking place this week and bringing new exposure to their community through an AMA with Lingose Gaming. Radical Chess also announced a partnership with GameTrade Market, an all-in-one platform for gamers focused on Web3 and inspired by Steam.
The Pong Heroes community is excited about the launch of their new multiplayer with the integration of their gaming token coming this week. To give players an extra way to share their excitement, a TikTok contest was also announced.
The first-ever backroom game on the blockchain, Make It Out, announced the launch of its staking program, providing three plan options ranging from 30 days to 120 days. Stake your MAKE tokens here: https://staking.makeitout.io/
Homie Wars announced the launch of their Battle2Earn feature within the game to their delighted Homie players, who crashed the system early on with more than 200 consecutive players enjoying the game at once. The Homie developers quickly fixed the bug to get the game live again and ready to onboard the masses. The build is live for download to Android devices at https://homiewars.com/

A huge win for Web3 mobile games took place this week as part of the Apple lawsuit with Epic Games; mobile apps listed in the iOS app store are now allowed to link to external shopping resources for their respective companies. Many Web3 game developers previously were concerned their gaming apps may not be listed by Apple if they had an open NFT mint for example, concerns which have now been alleviated.
Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Games, to the tune of $69 billion, would have been “the biggest tech deal in history,” according to NPR, but was blocked this week by British regulators. The main concern by regulators is the potential absence of competition in the gaming market should the two major gaming companies merge.
Following the announcement at the Game Developers Conference in March that Epic Games would be overhauling its creator strategy to provide 40% of revenue to in-game creators, a group of 5 top influencers in the gaming sector started a collaboration for “Project V,” a custom Fortnite Creative mode game which they announced this week. Project V is expected to launch in Q2 2024 and be a contender for the №1 Creative experience with the backing of 120 million fans by its influencer creators.
A great Podcast. Interoperability between game ecosystems and economies has been held up as a possibility that is opened up by decentralized protocols, blockchain technologies and web3 — but until now, it has mostly been a pipedream rather than a reality. But now two web3 companies, metaverse avatar developer Ready Player Me and open-world shooter developer Faraway Games, have partnered up to deliver on the promise of interoperable game worlds.
