Castle of Blackwater has been running daily play sessions with various guilds, DAOs and organizations and as far as we can tell, it’s been a huge success. In addition to doing this, the team has been developing new game features with the latest being Magic Mirrors. Legends of Arcadia has completed their 4th Alpha Test and it was a success all round. The medium article linked below gives a great recap but some of the impressive stats include:

The GushiLand team has started to reveal the tiles that form the unique Gushi Force arenas! This first reveal below is the DracoPuff which includes the effect of a 5% increase in HP if you remain in an adjacent tile each turn. As we covered last week, the Bork Borks team has been holding a design contest for the ship to be included within their fourth arcade game coming to Astro Explorer. The team over at Thurstober Digital Studios has been dropping some major updates this past week, with our favorite being recent race results and replays. “Every time I’m asked to design something new, I get excited about finding out what we are designing. Whether it’s a character or environment or designing new buildings, or neighborhoods, I always try to do research about the place.”

“Is it a small town or a big town? Where is it? Is it someplace that looks like it could be in America, or is it a city in Europe? I always connect the real world to our virtual world and ground it all in something recognizable and relatable.

This helps the players see the world as we see it, but also adds an element of ‘fantasy’ and connects the fantasy with believability.”

As you can see, this helps focus the concept artwork into a unified vision of what we’ll have in Blockstars as the game launches!

Fantasy sports aren’t just a pastime for me; they’re a passion that I’ve been nurturing since I was young. The thrill of owning a piece of a real athlete and sharing in their success has always been a source of exhilaration for me. The strategy of predicting which athlete will perform the best in a given week, the stats that help inform these predictions, and the rush of watching a game and seeing “my” player score — all of these things have always captured my imagination and driven me to create more engaging and innovative ways to play.

I’ve always been fascinated by stats, stories, and big games, and I’ve dedicated countless hours to learning about different sports and their intricacies. Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of different players, analysing their performance against different defences, and identifying the factors that might influence their success — all of these things are essential to playing fantasy sports at the highest level.

My passion for stats and strategy led me to create my own custom fantasy football league at the tender age of 8. I was dissatisfied with the limitations of platforms like Yahoo and ESPN, so I created my own innovative auction draft format, with keepers and a free agency system. Today, my league has become an exclusive “club” with a waiting list for new teams, and it’s still going strong.

But I didn’t stop there. I was an early adopter of Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS), which allowed players to have more autonomy in setting their weekly line-ups and creating unique strategies to beat the algorithm. Early on I decide to concentrate on building territory by laying down hex land tiles in an initial thrust to approach his hero. This leaves me vulnerable to his flurry of low-mana minions which soon are closing in a ring around my hero. They start picking away at him seeking the death of a thousand cuts.

I have placed land right next to his hero, but now I am so busy fending off attacks on my own hero that I can’t take advantage of his vulnerability. He seems to manage to position three attackers for every one of my defenders and my hero, though valiant, is dying a slow death.

My heart is racing as I watch my mana charge slowly build up to the point I can place my one behemoth on the board while my hero is slowly and steadily bleeding out. Finally, I have a chance. My hero is tottering, but I position my behemoth for a swift death blow against his hero from the tile I laid down early in the game. It’s his turn now. Can I survive another turn to deliver the coup de grace? I’m sweating now, and my heart is racing.

It’s my turn again with my hero still barely hanging on. But it is enough. I deliver the deathblow and win the game! For the last few minutes, I have been existing in a perfect state of “flow” defined in the American Psychological Association’s dictionary as “a state of optimal experience arising from intense involvement in an activity that is enjoyable.”

First person shooters provide intensity and the application of skill, while role playing games conjure imagination and cooperation. Legends of Elysium has found a perfect balance of the application of strategic and tactical thinking on a game board with the planning, preparation and unpredictability of selecting a deck of cards any of which may or may not appear when you need them most. The pace is leisurely but intense concentration is needed at every stage.

Most games can be finished in from 5 to 15 minutes, providing the perfect break from other tasks on your PC or Mac. This game is free-to-play, but card ownership is an important factor with sophisticated economics. With its many moving parts, I suspect skill and mastery will trump deep pockets most of the time.

Legends of Elysium is in open Alpha and is well worth jumping into right now if you want to playtest. The public Beta should come in the late summer or fall.

As seen in the example of female gamers, if the game is not appealing to them, the percentage of gamers in that genre would be very low. It took time for mobile games to catch on with female gamers, and the same could happen in web3 gaming. Therefore, some developers should work towards creating a game that can cater to both web3 and traditional gamers. The creators of the super-fun tower rush game, Cosmic Champs, have announced that from today, till their upcoming tournament, a beta pass is no longer needed to play their game. This is the perfect chance to try out the game and even train for the upcoming tournament.

Thurstober Digital Studios, the developers of the Discord horse racing game, have announced an updated release schedule along with new features and plans for the game. Here are the highlights:

1. The Factory: In the initial release of this feature, users will be able to sync their wallets from Algorand and XRP to create a unified user profile. Multiple Algorand wallets can be connected and users can also log in using web socials.

2. New Collection: A new collection of themed 2inyhorse assets will be released to attract new users and provide them with an opportunity to enter the project at mint price. The plan is to drop 1000–1200 new 2tinyhorses for both ALGO and XRPL chains.

3. Change in Drop Style: Instead of the former opt-in Shuffle for the OATS Pass, it will now be an ongoing purchase. Users can either buy the passes from the shop or win a chance to purchase an OATS Pass at a discounted price.

4. Free-for-all Unrestricted Mint: Around 10% of the new collection will be dropped into a free for all mint. For a 24 hour period, wallets can choose to opt into the mint and winners will be randomly chosen for a right to buy.

5. Collaboration Racing Events: As the developers enable more XRP and ALGO collections, new users will be able to participate and start reserving their first 2tinyhorse.

6. New Mint System: The new 2tinyhorse drop will serve as a demo of the new mint-on-demand system that the developers are building, complete with a custom png layering tool.

7. Fancyhorse Releases: Following the 2tinyhorse drop, the developers plan to release Fancyhorse 1–315 (only claimable through a STUPIDHORSE), Fancypass (for discounted Fancyhorse redemption), and an open, limited-time mint of Fancyhorse. The aim is to stress test the system and the utility of Fancyhorses across multiple chains.

Fracctal Monsters, the monster taming game, has introduced a new game mechanic called Fracctal Harvest Stones. These stones, purchasable with the in-game currency FRACC, can increase players’ PEPE and COOP earnings during VS battles. The are a few different stones available:

1. Leaf Harvest Stone: 2x rewards multiplier, costs 20,000 FRACC

2. Flower Harvest Stone: 3x rewards multiplier, costs 30,000 FRACC

3. Tree Harvest Stone: 5x rewards multiplier, costs 50,000 FRACC

In addition, an email-based custodial wallet has been implemented for easier management of in-game assets. Users can sign up with an email and password, and choose a free non-NFT starter monster. A custodial wallet is then created and funded to allow NFT opt-ins. Users can earn NFTs and bonus pool rewards and purchase new NFTs on the marketplace for extra earnings. A subscription fee of $1/month is required to withdraw funds and manage assets to prevent bot accounts.

Algorand Casino has announced the public beta phase of their poker app. Everyone can now access and play poker on public tables and tournaments. This comes after extensive testing and bug identification (and smashing) by ambassadors and the Discord community.

Although the poker app is in a state where the community at large can use it, this does not mark its final iteration. The team will continue to implement updates and features almost daily. Jump in and check out the app here!
